Siddhārtha Sneha Kalpana (oil formulation) is a well-known home remedy and a therapeutic oil amongst Sri Lankans. Siddhārtha is the name of Lord Buddha and means bestowing results. This oil is commonly used by Ayurvedic physicians in Sri Lanka for muscular pain, nerve debility, nerve impingements and chronic neurological conditions such as paralysis and sciatica.

Massage with Siddhārtha Taila (oil) is specially recommended for muscular pain or nerve debility or nerve impingements and for chronic neurological conditions such as paralysis and sciatica. It has special benefits in pacifying Vāta and Kapha conditions, nourishing wasted muscles, strengthens body and mind.

Ingredient

Sida veronicaefolia , Asparagous falcatus , Tribulus terrestris , Aerva lanata , Gmelina arborea.

It is prepared by infusing various medicinal herbs and botanical extracts into a carrier oil base.

Manufacturers advise avoid use during the first trimester. Self-abhyanga (massage) is not recommended during fever, common cold, acute disease conditions, indigestion and menstruation. Avoid use if known to have allergy for Sesame or nuts.
